A Successful Collaboration with High Velocity Creative

Champion Production recently collaborated with High Velocity Creative on a series of brand stories for Xtreme Manufacturing and Xtreme Cubes based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The weather was hot! But we had a great shoot and a successful collaboration.

I was brought onto the project to help with the cinematography. I was responsible for operating the cameras and setting up the lighting for the interviews and equipment B-roll footage.

Since we were filming in large warehouses, we needed powerful lighting. We used two Arri Skypanels for very bright but also soft lighting. They were an excellent solution to the logistical challenge we faced.

And for the interview Don stood up so that his presentation was more energetic. Sometimes standing can be a better solution to a sitting interview if you want it to feel more energetic. It also helped set up the composition so we could see more of the height of the impressive machinery.

Overall, it was a very successful shoot. We shot lots of great content for their new website and had a great time collaborating with High Velocity Creative and the rest of the Xtreme team.

The brand new Canon R6 MII is a phenomenal camera.

I shot with the new Canon R6 MII camera and it was a great all around camera for shooting the interviews and B-Roll. The internal stabilization was very helpful as I often need to go handheld when moving fast to get the next shot.

I also had a great time working with Mark Baird, who is a friend and mentor of mine. We have worked together many times before and our familiarity with each others’ process led to a successful and fun production.
