Sterling Kai Blackmon • 2D Animator and Editor

Sterling Kai is personality and antics incarnate and it is only intensified through his animations. From big facials and exaggerated poses to subtle, almost unnoticed asides, his characters exude personality and charm. At a young age he was given the opportunity and privilege to act in a plethora of film, television and print projects. These experiences gave him first hand lessons with understanding a scene and what helps it become the best it can be for the audience. While in college he switched gears from acting in the scenes to creating them with animation. He attended Savannah College of Art and Design where he was inspired by professors that created scenes he adored as a child, and it fueled the fire and passion he has for the art form.
Currently, he animates and edits videos with the knowledge he gained through his experiences as a child on set, coupled with the structure and technical expertise gained while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Champion Production has produced videos for businesses in the following industries: NonProfit, Agriculture, Appliance, Consumer Electronics, Custom Integration, Medical, Education, E-Commerce, Restaurant, Technology, Government, Professional Services, Furniture, and Mattress

  • The cost varies depending on factors such as the type of video being produced, the duration of the video, how many cameras are used, the shooting location, and more. For example, the labor involved, a.k.a. the number of crew people and amount of shooting days, ends up being one of the bigger expenses. Hiring a video production company ranges, on average, from about $3,000 for a basic video project to $50,000 for a complex one. There are many different ways to adapt to different budgetary needs. Reach out and we can talk through how to get you the video you need at your ideal budget.

  • Champion focuses on five core services: commercials, social media videos, product videos, promotional videos, and corporate videos. The reason why is because the company has a track record of producing successful videos in these categories that have acquired hundreds of thousands of views, sometimes millions, and wants to bring that level of specialization to clients.

  • Generally speaking, the process begins with a discussion about your business, project logistics, and goals. We’ll collaborate and decide on a budget that suits your needs. From there we’ll dive into pre-production which can include scriptwriting, storyboarding, casting, location scouting, or more. It can also be as simple as setting a date and time to shoot. Production is where we’ll shoot the video and will include crew and videography equipment. Sometimes you can shoot your project with just one videographer who can do everything and sometimes you’ll need more people. The final stage is post-production. This typically involves video editing, sound design, color grading, motion graphics, and sometimes special effects. This process can be done by one person or a group of people who are highly specialized in each stage of post-production. There will be edits sent to you for your feedback and we will call it complete when you are happy with the final version of the video.

  • This really varies from project to project. But generally speaking, lower budget projects ($1,000-3,000) might only take a few days. While higher budget projects ($25,000-50,000) might take a few months.
